Anna University Chennai notifies BE BTech BArch Admissions 2014

Anna University invites applications for BE/ B.Tech/ B.Arch Degree Courses admissions for 2014 intake. 
Allocation of Seats: Fifty seats (50) (including 1 seat for Kashmiri Migrant) are reserved for B.E./B.Tech degree courses in University Dept of Anna University, Chennai-25
Two seats are reserved for B.Arch degree course in the University Dept of Anna University, Chennai-25
A candidate needs to submit only one application for all the courses mentioned above

Duration: B.E./B.Tech (4 academic years comprising of 8 semesters), B.Arch (5 academic years comprising of 10 semesters)

Eligibility:

Applicant should be a citizen of India but not a native of Tamil Nadu
A certificate of permanent residence in the format given in certificate-I should be furnished
B.E./B.Tech: A pass in the HSC (academic) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage in the relevant subjects or
Any other equivalent qualification with relevant subjects approved by the Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu
Candidates of HSC (academic) and other equivalent examination, minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together General category 50%, SC/ST 35%
When the candidates produce grade certificates, they have to produce the actual marks also otherwise only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) will be taken into account
Mining Engineering branch only male candidates are eligible

Selection Procedure:

The selection of candidates will be on the basis of the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination
The academic marks in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics 100, Physics + Chemistry =100) will be considered for ranking
B.Arch: HSC (academic)/equivalent
Candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects
General category candidates should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate
SC/ ST candidates should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate
Diploma candidates who have passed 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/ State Gov
General category candidates should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together
SC/ST candidates should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together
Candidates who have passed International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of schooling, with Mathematics as compulsory subject
General category candidates should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together
SC/ST candidates should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put

For the purpose of calculation of marks in respect of sandwich Diploma candidates, the marks of all the other semesters except industrial training shall be considered
Aptitude Test: The candidates should have passed (pass mark is 80 out of 200) the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2014 conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi
Selection for B.Arch: The selection of candidates will be on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and also in the NATA-2014 conducted by the Council of Architecture
The candidates should have passed NATA and should submit a copy of the mark sheet along with the application
Those who have not appeared and passed in the NATA are not eligible for B.Arch degree course
The total academic marks for HSC (academic/equivalent) will be reduced to 200
For Diploma candidates the academic marks in all the semesters put together will be reduced to 200
The maximum mark for NATA is 200
Ranking of the candidates will be based on 400 marks (NATA mark 200 and academic mark 200)
A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks of 400
In cases where more than one candidate have got the same marks in the common merit list, the inter-se-merit among such candidates shall be determined in the order of priority, Academic aggregate for 200, Date of Birth (elder will be given preference), Random number assigned (higher value will be given preference)

The candidates will also be informed of their rank individually by post through the counselling call letter
The college will be provisionally allotted only through counselling
Counseling: Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit
Based on the merit and communal reservation, the branch/campus chosen by the candidate will be allotted
Candidates have to opt for campus and branches that are available at the time of counselling
The counselling call letter will be sent in the self addressed cover enclosed by the candidate
Candidates have to pay an initial deposit of Rs 5000/- by cash or demand draft drawn in favour of the Director, Admissions, Anna University payable at Chennai and produce all the original certificates during counselling
If a candidate has deposited all the certificates in an Institution where he/she has already been admitted, a letter from the Head of the Institution should be produced to that effect
In such cases only, copies of certificates attested only by the Head of the Institution shall be accepted for verification
However, the provisional allotment order will be withheld and it will be released only on production of all the original certificates
Eligible candidates who have applied may appear for counselling according to their cut off mark, two hours before the counselling session on the dates given in the website along with their original certificates for verification, irrespective of receipt of individual communication
Application Form: The candidates can register only through internet by logging on towww.annauniv.edu/otherstate2014
After entering the required information in the application form, press the submit button, then take a printout, the printout contains filled in application and format for permanent residence certificate
Affix a photograph and affix the signature at the appropriate spaces provided
You have to get the signature from the competent authority in the permanent residence certificate and send along with the filled in application
The printout application along with the registration fee in the form of a demand draft only should be sent along with all the enclosures by speed/ registered post
All the demand drafts should be drawn in favour of the Director, Admissions, Anna University payable at Chennai
Registration fee for B.E./B.Tech only Rs 500/-, B.Arch only Rs 500/-, B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch Rs 1000/-
Payment by any other mode will not be accepted
The candidates are required to enclose only the attested copies of the following certificates along with the
Application, mark sheets (all appearance) of HSC or equivalent examination, mark sheet of X standard, Transfer certificate/migration certificate, community certificate (for SC/ST candidates), permanent residence certificate, NATA mark sheet and Hall Ticket (for B.Arch only), A demand draft for Rs 500/- or Rs 1000/- towards registration fee, Self addressed stamped (Rs 25/-) envelope
Applications received after the due date, not in the prescribed form, not correctly filled up or the prescribed certificates and documents are not enclosed or do not otherwise fulfill the terms of the instructions will be considered defective and are liable for rejection without notice
